The Christmas and New Year period is a relaxing time for most people. Whether you take time off or whether you were only working shorter hours, chances are you got to have a nice break. Chances are that things were a lot less stressful than for most of last year.

Now that the break is over, there are some things that you need to remember. In this post I will share with you three tips that I recommend that you follow going in to the new year. Whilst you are back on deck full time now, chances are that you are still a little bit quieter than the busy times so you can afford to do a few important things that you may have put off.

Remember the goals you set during the break-
During the break, whilst things were quieter, chances are that you had a think about things that you would like to do, or you reminisced about previous goals that you have set. Make 2010 the year that you actually achieve your goals. Take action today towards achieving your goals. Spend half an hour today working out what steps you need to follow to reach your goals.

□ Look at your utilities bills and service providers- You work hard enough to earn your money. Don’t be silly and throw your money away unnecessarily. Whilst things are quieter, you should look at all of your utilities bills and telecommunications bills to see if there are better plans out there that can save you money. If you can save money, change providers.

Resolve to improve your network and become an effective networker- There has never been a better time to build your network Word of Mouth marketing, that is getting business via referral is far and away the best way for you to get business. It is cheap and you generally get high value customers. Building your network can improve your business and your career.

Many people that I have spoken to tell me that 2009 just passed them by. They were amazed at how quickly it went. Don’t let 2010 be one of those years. Live the life that you want to live.
