Many businesses struggle with choosing the best mobile phone and the best plan for their business. If they make a mistake, they end up with the wrong plan and a mobile phone that they hate. Oftentimes, they end up on a long contract on a plan that they hate with high fees if they want to change anything. You should follow the advice that I have outlined below so this doesn’t happen to you.
1. Look at the plan inclusions- obviously you should not sign up for anything unless you know what you are locking yourself in to. You need to make sure that you get yourself on a plan that suits your usage. For example, if you send a lot of SMS messages, get a plan with included text. If you get a lot of emails or access the internet a lot, get a plan with included data. If you make a lot of calls, get a capped calling plan. That is, look for a plan that has a lot of calls included at a capped price. For example, at the time of writing, the Optus $79 Cap has $550 of included calls plus some other inclusions.
2. Look at the handset included- Obviously, you are going to need a phone to make your calls from. Lol for a phone that suits your usage. If you are a tradesperson, get a water resistant phone, if you need to get your emails whilst on the road, get a smart phone or blackberry.
3. If in doubt, speak to a professional- Chances are that mobile phones are not your core business. Speak to a professional if you are confused. Tell them what you want and they can tailor a solution to suit your needs. If the first person you speak to doesn’t give you the advice you are seeking, move on and find a telecommunications professional that you feel comfortable with and trust.
