I had a chance to play with the Blackberry Pearl 8220 last week (the Blackberry Flip!) and I must say that I was impressed.

It has all the function and form of other Blackberry Devices, in a compact flip design. It should bring a lot of people to Blackberry who were concerned about the size of other Blackberry devices and I think it will be popular in both the consumer and business markets.

The Blackberry Flip is tiny. It measures 101mm x 50mm x 17.5mm and weighs in at a measly 102 grams. it has 128MB of internal memory which can be expanded using a MicroSD card. It is quadband so you shouldn’t have any problems using it on your travels and it is WiFI enabled so you can save on data costs in WiFI supported areas.

The only downside I see with the Blackberry 8220 is that it is not 3G enabled or HSDPA which means that it can be a bit slow when surfing the internet. However, if you are only using the device for emails and non-regular surfing, this should not be too much of an issue.

A great handset that I will be happily recommending to my clients.
