If your are one of those looking to get on the Texas Holdem Poker bandwagon by playing Texas Holdem poker online, you need to ensure you understand the rules of the game. The basic premise of playing Texas Holdem poker, online and offline is to ensure that you make the best hand of 5 cards from a possible 7. This article explains the 10 winning hands in order of highest hand to lowest hand.
1. The Royal Flush- This is the highest hand you can get when playing Texas Holdem poker, or any kind of poker for that matter. It involves a hand consisting of Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10 of the same suit.
2. The Straight Flush- This poker hand involves getting 5 cards of the same suit running in numerical order. A king high straight flush is a better Holdem poker had than a 6 high straight flush.
3. Four of a Kind- Four cards of the same value; one from each suit. If two or more players get four of a kind, the player with the higher value card wins.
4. A Full House- this involves getting three cards of the same value, and another pair of a different value. If two or more players have a full house, the player with the higher value three of a kind is the winner.
5. A Flush- A flush is 5 cards of the same suit that are not in running order. If two or more players have a flush, the player with a flush that has the highest value card is the winner.
6. A Straight- A straight consists of five cards in consecutive order. They do not have to be of the same suit. If two or more players have a straight, the player with a straight that has the highest value card is the winner.
7. Three of a Kind- Three cards of the same value; one from each suit. If two or more players get three of a kind, the player with the higher value card wins.
8. Two Pairs- A hand with two different paired cards. If two or more players get two pairs, the player with the higher value pair wins.
9. A Pair- A hand with any two cards of the same value. If two or more players get a pair, the player with the higher value pair wins.
10. Highest Card- If none of the other hands are made by a player in a round, the player with the highest card wins. The ace is considered the highest card.
