Being indecisive plays a large role in our ability to move forward. When we can’t move forward we become unproductive hindering our growth and ultimately our happiness. There are many reasons why we become indecisive in business. Often there are too many aspects of a business that need attention and not enough time and resources so these decisions end up in the “too hard basket”. Other times we’re so used to making a certain type of decision that when faced with something “out of our comfort zone” we feel anxious and unable to stand up and make the final call.

In today’s business world, many professions don’t work to a “standard” business day. Professionals now have to think quick on their feet and adapt to fast paced and changing work environments. These types of attributes are seen on countless job descriptions and will become even more common as roles start to collaborate different skills and talents they once didn’t need. This will require ability to make fast yet accurate decisions in areas we may not feel comfortable in.

Many business owners and leaders can find it difficult to make decisions because they have too many issues at hand. They’re dealing with past, present and future business issues. However, it’s vital for those in business, particularly in leadership roles, to step up to the plate and make decisions. If not, you will see your business lose a whole lot more than just time and energy.

The following are just some of the areas you will suffer through indecision:

- Financially: Indecision will see you miss opportunities and new opportunities lead to growth and a growing profit margin.

- Professional growth: If you’re not making the tough calls then you will not know how to handle the outcomes. Making decisions and dealing with its consequences allows you to grow in managing different issues, adding to your skill set.

- Emotionally: Much of Indecision can stem from fear and lack of self confidence. If you don’t break through this barrier you will find yourself becoming insecure and ultimately unhappy. Those that lack the ability to make decisions find they are unable to move forward and the business will also suffer as a consequence.

There are ways that we can learn to become more decisive and make sound judgments. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by decisions, here are some tips to help you navigate your way through the process:

Ask yourself key questions: Questions deliver answers. Make sure you ask yourself key questions to help you make better decisions moving forward. For instance, decide why you are in business. Decide what you want to stand for. Decide what it is you do best and who would value and buy what you do.

Assess risks: When you way up the pros and cons of a decision and see what risks are involved this will allow you to feel more in control and prepared for your final call.

Step outside box: More often than not, people find it easier to make a decision or answer a question when it isn’t related directly at them. Think about what advice you would give someone else if they were in your position.

Making the tough calls is vital to our business and personal growth. You will find that by following these tips you will start to develop more of a “go out there and get em” attitude, become more ambitious and start to feel more energised about your business and its future.

A salesperson is at the forefront of a business. They’re the ones communicating with customers and clients face to face and are usually the first point of contact for questions or queries. Not only does the salesperson need to know the details of a product or service, they also need to have the ability to think outside the square and provide valuable and useful solutions.

Gone are the days where selling was just about the products, its features and how it operates. Today, clients and customers expect sales people to be business people who can sell, think about possibilities and create a working partnership with their own businesses.

Business acumen is important to the skill set of the salesperson and they should have an overall view of the company, including finance, marketing, budget and operations as well as completely understand the company’s goals and objectives.

Salespeople aren’t required to have MBA’s or prestigious qualifications. For the salesperson, it’s about combining experience with thinking and creativity with theory. It is up to the business to involve their sales teams to give them the experience and theory they need.

So…how much should salespeople know about each area of business?

Business Acumen: Demonstrates an understanding of how business works; understands the business’ commercial drivers and makes commercially sound decisions.

Financial Awareness: Develops strategies in order to optimise the potential profitability of sales and to measure the financial value of the customer/organisation relationship.

Market and Industry Insight: Keeps up to date with relevant business, technical and professional knowledge and uses this information to understand market trends, customer needs and buying patterns.

For a salesperson that has been trained in product dialogue for most of their sales career, the transition to being a valuable contributor to a business and business partner to clients will take time and preparation.

This transformation will involve changing the attitude of a salesperson and their idea of what a sales role constitutes. Here are some tips on how sales teams can get into shape and prepare for their sales transformation:

Theory and knowledge: Give sales teams or a representative a regular spot at the weekly board meeting. This will allow for sales people to hear all aspects of business and see the updates, results and progress week by week.

Sales Training: Investing in sales training and coaching can be beneficial for businesses, particularly during the transformation period. Sales training can involve role playing, which combines theory with practice. They’re able to exercise real life situations in a professional

environment where they will develop confidence and receive the necessary feedback that’s required in order for them to learn and grow.

It’s time for businesses to integrate their sales team as a core part of their business. A sales team can bring fresh eyes to a business strategy and help determine the right approach to grow a business. The more involved a sales team is the more insight businesses will have into the thoughts and processes of their clients and customers.

In the world of business Steve Jobs was a giant. There is no doubting that. He is credited with making the very complicated process of operating a personal computer a simple task. A simple click on a mouse to drag an icon onto another to have it moved into a new folder and of course the famous two clicks in succession to open programs. These simple moves got rid of the various codes that had, up to this time, made the operating of the early computers too hard for many to grasp.

From the early days of Mac when Jobs first introduced a desktop computer that an ordinary person could use with ease, without having to undertake a course to understand how it worked, to the latest Apple products such as the iPhone and iPad, he has changed the way the information technology industry thinks and works. The way Steve Jobs approached marketing his company’s products also set the pace as to how other IT companies did their own marketing. He changed the way the whole industry was heading.

He Sold Benefits Not Products

You only have to look at the way Steve Jobs approached the marketing of Apple products to see why his return to the company, when it was on its last legs, saw a revitalisation that shook the entire industry. When he returned Apple didn’t try to sell products anymore, they started selling what the product could do. For instance its advertisements worldwide showed children learning to write, they showed busy businesspeople reading company reports on planes, and all this time you could hear the soft, clear, simple sounds of a piano or acoustic guitar in the background. The message he was sending out required no interpretation, it was simple. The iPad will help you, it will make you creative. An iPad will enable you to connect with your family. An iPad is easier than anything you are doing now. It didn’t have to say all these things, it showed it happening.

While Jobs was showing people how Apple products enhanced their lifestyles, competing brands were out there trying to sell their products and what they were capable of, but not what they could do for you, the consumer. That was the big difference between the way Jobs went about marketing Apple products compared to what his competition was doing. He was winning hearts and minds and sales automatically followed. While all this was going on Motorola, Research in Motion and Samsung were heaping praise on all the good things their products carried. Things such as USB connectivity, the ability to run any video file you put to them, high definition screens and more, it was never ending and it was all good stuff. But what they weren’t telling consumers was what they could do with all these bells and whistles.

Steve Jobs’ Approach to Marketing was to Keep it Simple

Jobs’ simplistic approach to marketing went further than just making people want to buy an Apple product because it enhanced their lifestyles. His particular style of branding was adopted throughout all of the company’s operations. Apple presentation slides were all clean and simple. Never any complicated graphs and seldom more than one graphic on the screen at any one time. And the message was always the same – the benefit the viewer got from the product – never what the product could do. Jobs controlled the Apple message at all times. He rebuilt the Apple brand and cemented it in the minds of consumers. The simple message that your lifestyle will be made better by having Apple products was getting out and was being accepted.

Sell the Dream – Not the Device

Jobs’ single minded approach to marketing can never be repeated too often. It can be seen as selling dreams – not the product. Instead many marketing people throughout the world, in all spheres of industry, insist on trying to sell the actual product whereas people who buy are sub-consciously looking for a reason to buy. This is where your marketing should be focused, to a person’s needs or dreams, not the product itself. This idea is not new, it has been known to marketers for many years but Jobs put it to good use, stuck to it and it worked. For further verification all you have to do is to look at the present day tablet market. Many other producers have tried hard to sell their quite good alternatives to Apple’s iPad. There is the Galaxy Tab or the Motorola Xoom, both quite good products and with most of the same features and usability, but their sales are nowhere near that of the Apple iPad. Why? Their producers are out there trying to sell their products. Apple is selling the benefits that the iPad can deliver.

Single Minded Approach to Innovation

Jobs’ other contribution to the ongoing success of the Apple brand was his focus on innovation. He strongly believed in being at the cutting edge of technological change. By thinking ahead of what people wanted he was able to be an industry leader. This approach often saw him creating, or accepting, new ideas that only Apple had faith in. All entrepreneurs have to break new ground now and again to establish their leading positions in any industry, but Jobs did it time and again.

He once contributed his success to passion. His passion saw him forging forward where other people would have given in. He will be remembered for many things but the most lasting will his ability as an innovator. Probably one of the best of our times.

What’s holding you back?

What’s slowing your progress down?

What’s stopping you from moving forward?

These questions relate to you attracting all the clients you need to have a full business. Having worked with many clients over the years, I’ve seen it all. Other than “no knowledge of marketing,” one thing seems to come up over and over again, and it happened again recently, with a brand new client.

The client answered this: “Sometimes, the ‘Little Voice’ inside me asks, ‘Who needs my services and programs anyway?” This is basic information that I offer. People already know this stuff!” This statement is so common, but in almost every case, this is absolutely not true!

I have to confess, in the past, I too have taken for granted what I already know and teach everyday and started questioning my value in the marketplace. For example, when I was teaching about niche branding, I sometimes wondered why people were paying me (or WOULD pay me) to teach them the difference between what is a brand versus just having a logo. To me, it was a no-brainer that branding throughout your whole business was more crucial than just having an appealing logo. But to a person who knew nothing about branding, it was crucial that I explain it to them in detail, and then the shortcuts on how to change their business into a recognizable brand and how to do it fast.

I would question the value of the ‘how-to’s of marketing I gave clients in every meeting. As I was stepping out the campaign relating every step back to their objectives and target market, I couldn’t help but think ‘Are these simple steps REALLY of value to them?’ (I’d been through marketing degrees, did large corporate marketing and serious small business marketing boot camps, so niche marketing came naturally to me.) But clients keep asking questions and referring other clients. Go figure!

Even in the early years of my marketing consultancy and coaching, I sometimes wondered about my value. Clients asked me daily about the secrets of getting clients to call THEM and making money with smart marketing techniques and even smarter systems. For me, it was now ingrained and like second nature. I took for granted that I knew it, and because I’d been doing it for so long and knew that it worked, I thought everyone knew it too and that it was common sense.

However, what’s common knowledge for you is a secret to someone else. Because we are “immersed” in our information all day long, and for years, we start taking for granted what we know. We forget what we know is actually a secret many others would do anything and everything to discover. It becomes the answer to their most pressing problem. It becomes the solution others have been praying for. And that’s when they call us.

If you’re in this position, you are probably OVER-estimating what everybody else knows. The more you think what you teach is common to YOU, plus the longer you do what it is you do, the more you tend to undervalue what you know.

The funny thing, as I’ve discovered, is that the more we teach things to our clients in SIMPLE terms, the happier they are, the more referrals we get and the more we make. It’s not the elaborate teachings that people are looking for. It’s the practical and simple solutions.

The disappointing thing about the whole undervaluing what you know is that as a result, you may be undercharging for what you offer. This is actually one of the major reasons why most people don’t have enough clients. Because they don’t see value in what they offer, they don’t charge enough, and therefore there is a low perception of value from the prospective client’s point of view. They then go somewhere else for the exact same information. Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy!

Some entrepreneurs even go so far as discounting their services, or offering a sliding scale, because of their lack of confidence and low perception of value in what they offer. In my book, discounting is a BIG no-no. Again, it portrays a devalued product or service and it’s NOT Client Attractive.

Look at your business today and ask yourself these questions:

Did you clients come to YOU for the information you take for granted?

Sometimes, they may even have known some of what you know, but didn’t have the discipline, accountability, resources or structure to do it on their own. Many of my clients KNOW how to attract other clients, they’re already somewhat successful, but they don’t have the discipline or accountability to do it consistently on their own. So we do it together. This is actually my favorite type of scenario, because these clients are very driven and since we’re not starting from scratch in the learning process, we move at warp speed.

Are you super confident in what you offer?

Read your testimonials over and over until your confidence comes back. If you don’t have any testimonials then ask your current happy clients for some.

Do you see yourself as their problem solver?

Your clients do see you as their problem solver. So charge accordingly and never ever discount your services, better still put them up!

If you’re not sure how much to charge or how to position your value in the marketplace, then it’s time to take action and invest in a step-by-step marketing system that will feel easy and authentic to you. The Easy Marketing to Get Clients Home Study System™ avoids all the unnecessary stuff and instead gives you the most important things to do to get out there in a big way, set up simple, solid systems, so you consistently fill your pipeline and continually get new clients. It’s all step-by-step, and easy to understand. So, you do step one of the system, and when you’re done with that, you move on to step two, and so on.
Many people love a good conversation. It may be a heart-to-heart talk or a fun conversation. People who haven’t seen each other in ages may just try to catch up with the latest news about each other. Or people just want to talk about how their day went.

These conversations are not only done in person in more, but with technology, these conversations are also done through computer and other gadgets. Chatting websites offer their instant messengers to people who want to talk in real time over the internet. Social networking sites have also taken advantage of people’s love for chatting by providing chat rooms for them, like a Facebook chat alternative.

Nowadays, you cannot only connect to the internet through a computer but also through mobile phones. So chatting over the internet can now be brought with you through your cell phone.

A mobile phone is small and portable. You can bring it anywhere. Just put it in your pocket before you go and that’s it. You can chat whenever you like in your mobile phone.

In choosing a chatting tool for your mobile phone you might need to consider what kind of phone you have.

iPhone
Got an iPhone? Do you love your touch screen phone, its cool design and exciting feature? Not only can you make phone calls, take and view pictures and videos, surf the internet, but you can also chat with your iPhone.
Check out various iPhone apps that you can add to your phone. When choosing a chat app try to look for one that allows you to view your complete chat history. That would prove helpful when you need information. And you can get it wherever you are.
If you want you can set up chat messages to appear like text messages. If you also want another view, use your iPhone’s widescreen view so you can chat with ease as you can see a bigger keyboard on your screen.

Android
If you have an Android phone, you can also get instant messengers in it. You can sign in to your instant messaging network. It would help you out if your chatting tool takes recent conversations to the top of your list. This might come in handy when you need to confirm information with someone you just chatted with.

Blackberry
A chatting tool for Blackberry that allows you to see the full chat history would also be beneficial for you when you need to review certain information. There are many different models of Blackberry, make sure that the instant messenger that you have chosen works with your model.

When you visit www.meebo.com you can download a Meebo alternative for your mobile phone. If a Facebook chat alternative is not your thing you can try the Meebo alternative. For any of these three phones, you can try a Meebo chat alternative or a Meebo alternative.

It’s no secret that Australia’s economy is set to head straight into a double-dip recession. With European and American debt putting a stranglehold on the Australian dollar, it seems likely that consumers should buckle themselves in for another bumpy economic ride.

This time, you want to be prepared for whatever the Australian economy throws your way – but before you apply for that second job or start cutting the fat from your household budget, it’s time to look at your belongings in a new light…

…Because you could be ignoring incredible revenue generators that make the difference between financial comfort and living on the edge.

Think you know what these revenue generators are? Think again: in a surprising report, we’ll explore the five most surprising revenue generators you are ignoring – and how you can turn each one into a raging
river of income:

Your Driveway. Believe it or not, plenty of people will pay good money for the privilege of parking at your house, especially if you leave near or within commuting distance of one of Australia’s major cities. Why’s this, you might ask? Simple: it’s far cheaper to rent a parking space from a private user as opposed to paying exorbitant rates at a city parking garage. Additionally, parking passes at major commuting stations can easily take out a significant chunk of money from anyone’s budget.

If you happen to have a space that’s well-situated – and you’re not in need of it yourself, of course – then turn your driveway or parking space into a passive stream of income. You can opt to post your ad online (sites like Gumtree.com.au work well) or you can post a listing at www.parkatmyhouse.com. You can set any price you’d like depending on the location of your parking space, but aim for about $30 to $50 per week to maximize the number of interested applicants.

One important note: if you opt to use the former route, don’t give out the specifics of your address until you’ve vetted out the serious applicants.

University Students. If you live near a university, then you’re in luck: there are many fantastic opportunities to pick up extra revenue. For example, if you happen to know your way around the written word, then you can offer your editing and proofreading skills to students around finals time. Just post an ad at the university’s writing center or English department (make sure you get permission first).

If you really want to see a bigger income stream from one of your common household items, offer to do laundry for university students. You’d be surprised at the number of students willing to pay money to have someone do their washing for them!

Sell your junk. If you have plenty of stuff hanging around – and you’re certain you’ll never use it again – then it’s time to list your junk on Ebay and sell it off. Head to Ebay.com and set up membership information so you can start listing your items. Take clear photos of all of the items you want to sell, and be prepared to be patient: some of the items can take a few weeks to be sold, especially if they’re not as in demand. On that note, check to see if your items are selling well – sometimes it’s not worth the effort to post things that won’t sell.

Turn your hobby into cash. Love making jewelry? Do you love fixing up computers? Then why not turn your hobby into serious income by selling your crafts, jewelry or services online or around the neighborhood? If you have certain technological skills, your neighbors will pay serious money for your expertise; similarly, selling your wares at a local crafts fair can also net in a great deal of income, particularly if your items are on-trend.

Rent out your car. If you’ve ever rented a car for a holiday, you know just how expensive it can be – and with petrol charges on the rise, rental car companies are set to charge higher prices than ever before. However, by renting out your car, you’ll not only generate serious income – you’ll be providing a service that’s in high demand.

If you want to rent out your car, there’s no better car rental service than DriveMyCar Rentals (DMCR), a unique web-based service that promotes peer-to-peer car sharing. DMCR isn’t a car rental company; it’s an online community that connects drivers and renters who want to avoid the sky-high cost of car rentals. Car owners can list their cars for only $25, after which they can select the minimum age of the renter, car availability dates, and rental rates. With DriveMyCar Rentals, your freedom is in your own hands.

Keeping your clients happy is a very important part to keep your business cycle running. A happy or satisfied client will always remember your service and will remain your client for further business. These clients also help spread the name of your business. Everyone in this universe loves to get something extra with anything he/she buys, whether it is an extra item or an extended service or an extra privilege.

Rewarding your clients helps you create a bond between you and them. Due to the tough market, people look for the lower cost of service with a greater level of coverage. To attract such clients you need to give discounts or give away free products.

Discounts
Discounts help lure customers who are looking to save money, and who in the world is not? People compare costs first before checking services. As for your existing customers, discounts are a way of awarding these loyal people a reward and at the same time doing some business, as you are not giving something away for nothing. Eventually this tactic helps you save money and establishes a good client network. If your client buys from you on a regular basis and always pays on time, you can call him/her a loyal customer. You can make them happy by always offering discounts on products and services.

A free giveaway
Another thing a loyal customer or even a new customer would love is getting something for free. Everyone loves to get something for nothing no matter how rich they might be and your client is no different. These things are important gestures which help your loyal customers realize that you value their business and want to keep them with you for a long time to come. The free item you are giving away does not have to be something expensive, rather it should be something valuable to them or something they could use. You could also show this gesture by giving away a free service or something similarly less costly. The saying “you scratch my back and I will scratch yours” describes the situation here, you take care of your clients and they will take care of you.

Loyalty Programs
A loyalty program is similar to a free giveaway but the rewards are greater. These loyalty programs are a great attraction when cementing or creating business relationships. You provide your client a magnetic card which stores information related to when and how many times they have purchased from you. Every time a transaction is made, the client is awarded points. When they have enough points they can redeem a gift from you. The most desirable gift is a usually an all paid vacation package or a similar travelling package. The reward system is like you get $20 on a purchase of $200.

All in all, rewarding your clients help you bring in more orders and in turn, more money. The happier your client is with your services, the higher chance that he/she will choose you for their next order.

Tim has been working as a customer acquisition specialist for several years. Tim strongly believe that rewarding your customer with promotional clothing or personalised promotional pens is an effective way to ensure long term custom loyalty

Is your business looking to work with foreign markets? Great! Overseas markets such as the American and European makets can offer wonderful possibilities for Australian companies. However, it’s not just the process of buying overseas or distribution that you need to get your head around. It’s also the process of making international transfers financially viable.

If you’ve never attempted to transfer money to an overseas bank account before, you might not be aware of the difficulties surrounding the process. Unlike if you were going to transfer funds from your account to another Australian bank account; international transfers can’t be done simply through your current online banking system. Instead, you’ll need to work with a specialist provider.

Like any industry, the one dealing with international financial transfers is filled with different options and possibilities. High street banks tend to offer the service, and sometimes even offer special deals for existing customers. It’s worth finding out whether this is the case with your current banking provider; but be aware that you might not be getting the best deal. High street banks tend to play on the convenience factor of the service they provide and therefore don’t always offer the most competitive deal. You may find youself paying high rates of commission, being given an unfavourable exchange rate and paying extra for additional facilities.

Alternatively, if you find that the service provided by the high street is not for you, think about going digital. Many online service providers offer much more attractive packages to businesses like youself. This is especially true if you’re looking to make regular payments overseas. Many online service providers charge a one time membership fee rather than commision each time you transfer, and some will even offer fixed exchange rates for a year! This means that you’re transfers won’t fall victim to fluctuating exchange rates – and every time you make a transfer you can be sure you’re getting the same deal.

It’s undeniable that the currency transfer industry is one fraught with choice and pitfalls. In fact, many companies use a specialist international transfers broker to help them navigate the process. This can be a very valuable investment for a company that is looking to expand into foreign markets in a big way. A specialist broker can ensure that you get on the right track straight away, and save you from expensive mistakes.

Our golden rule is to make sure that you do the research before you committ yourself to any one service. Give yourself the time and resources to do this, and consider drafting in professional broker advice. Remember that the more you retain of your initial sum of money, the more value you’re going to get from your overseas connections.
